Welcome to the kink meme for Critical Role!
This community is open to all fans of Critical Role no matter what your preference for pairing may be. You do not have to join the community: you can either watch it or just track the post. Anon commenting will always be on, and IP tracking will be off. So feel free to stay anon if it makes you more comfortable.
What is a Kink Meme?
It's pretty simple. You post a prompt and your fellow fans get inspired and write fic based on that prompt. As it is a "kink" meme, a great deal of fic will be of the smutty variety, so if you aren't into that or not of a porn-reading age, this place won't be for you. Not all fic has to be smutty, but it does have to be kinky.
Clarification: This is a kink meme, therefore prompts must be kink-based. It is not a general prompting/headcanons meme. There have been a couple of people confused by that, so we're just making it extra clear.
Please only post one prompt per comment so to avoid any confusion.
How do I prompt?
Post each prompt as a new comment to the main post. Include pairing (or threesome or more if that's your thing) and anything else you want to add. You should put, at the very least, the pairing in the subject line along with a specific kink if it applies. You can put the whole prompt in the subject if it will fit, but if it doesn't, use the comments. For example:
Subject line: Pike/Sarenrae, holy visitation
Body of comment: Pike gets a different kind of spiritual visitation one night.
I see a prompt I want to write! What now?
Go for it! You don't have to claim it, and fills can be written by more than one person. Once you've finished you must post it as a response to the original comment. Responses should use a subject line that includes the pairing, rating & any necessary warnings (i.e. incest, non-con, etc.). If you have titled your fic you can also include that. Also, as LJ limits the size of comments, if your fic goes into multiple comments, please note that your comment is part 1/5, part 2/5 and so on. Using the prompt above, the subject line could read:
"Holy Smitten, Pike/Sarenrae, NC-17, 1/5"

- Your kink is not someone else's and their kink may not be yours. If you don't like it, don't read it. It's really that simple.
- Please no bashing of other pairings. Just like with kinks, everyone has their own flavors, and this is neither the time nor place for ship wars. This meme is meant to include the entire fandom.
- Crossover prompts are allowed, but they must include a Critical Role character as a main part of the prompt.

Date: 2022-02-15 01:11 am (UTC)Vax looked at Keyleth and his heart beat a little faster, his mouth got dry and he couldn’t help but start smiling. Then she started smiling back, and that was pretty great.
And then they saw Gilmore again, for the first time in a long time, and for the first time Vax was dreading walking through those doors. He didn’t want to hurt Shaun. But the heart settled where it would – not that he was settling for Keyleth. More like the other way around.
Shaun locked eyes with him as soon as they crossed the threshold, giving him a smile and a wave.
Vax’s heart beat a little faster. His mouth got dry. And he found his mouth curling upwards into a smile in return.
Wait.
He hadn’t expected his feelings for Shaun to fade overnight, no more than he’d fallen for Keyleth overnight. But when he held those feelings in one hand and his feelings for Keyleth in the other he couldn’t tell a difference. Which was terrifying, frankly.
So he didn’t say anything to Shaun. Kept smiling and flirting, all the while panicking that Keyleth would take offense, would demand he choose. Carrying the same fear with Keyleth, that Gilmore would demand the same. He should choose. It wasn’t fair to either of them, to string them along this way. And it weighed heavy on his heart whenever he looked at either of them.
Until they both pinned him in a corner at a tavern, him half-drunk already and them with solemn, worried faces.
“I went to Keyleth,” Shaun started, “asking if I’d done anything wrong, if you’d said anything to her.”
“And I had the same question for him,” Keyleth said, sitting at the table they’d backed him into. “So clearly we both did something - “
“Or you’re chewing on something,” Gilmore said softly, sitting across from Keyleth. “Copper for your thoughts?”
Faced with both of them solemn and worried and radiating care and love, Vax lasted about a second and a half before he crumpled into the remaining chair, with one of them on either side. He took a moment to loathe the irony before the whole thing spilled out of him. His indecision, his guilt, his equal yet independent love for the both of them.
He dropped his face into his arms, looking up at them with one eye. “Sorry,” he said simply. But they weren’t looking at him. They were looking at each other. Not with animosity or envy, as he’d feared, but calculation. Scheming, almost. And then they both looked down at him and smiled.
“Okay,” Keyleth said.
“That’s fine,” Gilmore added.
“What,” Vax responded.
“You have a lot of love to give, Vax,” Keyleth said softly, laying a hand on his arm. “You deserve that same amount of love in return.”
“But - “
“And we bring different things to the table,” Gilmore interrupted with a wink that made Keyleth flush slightly. “Oh, that’s not what I meant, dear. Well. Not entirely.”
“I - “
“So if that’s what you need, and what your heart wants...if it’s what makes you happy,” Keyleth said, squeezing his arm. “Then it makes me happy.”
“Me too.” Gilmore leaned his chin in one hand. “If it’s okay with you, Vax’ildan.”
“I – you - “ Vax was too drunk for this conversation, but here it was, happening. The both of them, shining with love and care and not an ounce of anger. “...okay,” he said weakly.
Gilmore reached out, patting his other arm. “We’ll talk again when you’re sober,” he promised.
“We just figured you wouldn’t cop to it without...lubrication.” Gilmore grinned widely and Keyleth flushed again. “Stop,” she insisted, and Gilmore laughed – not unkindly.
“I should have,” Vax mumbled into his arm. “I should have said something sooner.”
“Feelings are confusing,” Gilmore said with a shrug. “But that’s what makes it worth figuring them out.”
Vax buried his face again, managing to worm his hands up to take both of theirs, and just sat that way for a long moment, his heart full to bursting.
