(i was halfway through writing this and i suddenly realized the beginning is basically the same as velcroboyfriends' Into My Arms, which is a much better fic than this one. sorry!)
Did you see that shit? The dice love Scanlan Shorthalt.
Can't keep a good gnome down.
Come over this weekend? Amy and the kids are gonna visit the in-laws.
I saw your tweet. Are you planning on making that come true?
Nothin gonna keep me from my man.
I'll be over Friday night.
Friday can't be over fast enough. Liam loves his job, loves directing, but he loves Sam too, and their chances to just sit and be assholes together are few and far between these days. So he's relieved to get home, kiss his wife and kids, and start cooking.
Sam, chronically late, rings the doorbell just as Liam finishes scooping the rice onto the plates. He can feel himself giving Sam a big dopey grin as he greets him at the door, which Sam returns with a short laugh and a quick kiss.
"Is that your heart-stopping, climactic 'I'm alive' kiss?" Liam asks. "Because it could use some work."
"I've got more where that came from," Sam replies with an over-the-top salacious wink. Liam just rolls his eyes, grins, and tugs Sam into the kitchen for dinner.
It's just chicken, rice, and steamed vegetables, but Liam thinks his dad experience is making him pretty good at this whole cooking thing. Besides, maybe it's silly, but he's always enjoyed eating with the people he loves.
Sam helps clean the dishes, coming up with song parodies on the fly and making Liam laugh his ass off. Sam always gets this big grin on his face when he makes people laugh, and Liam just wants to kiss him over and over again.
They finally settle down on the couch with a couple beers. Liam curls up at Sam's side, unafraid of being affectionate. Sam holds him while he talks about work, the joys and perils of directing children. After a long, comfortable silence, Sam gently lifts Liam's chin and gives him a deep kiss, using his other hand to lightly tug at Liam's hair in that way that makes his toes curl. Liam leans into the kiss and hums happily, fisting his hands in Sam's shirt, pressing their bodies as close together as he can possibly manage. Sam nips at his lower lip before finally pulling away, grinning.
"How's that for your climax?" he asks.
"I'll show you a climax," Liam replies. He sinks down onto the floor and unzips Sam's jeans.
Liam/Sam, "kiss me like you mean it"
