I LOVED this! The entire thing is amazing, and the little details are so well thought out. It's amazing how much of Grog's voice comes through, even outside of the dialog. Everything from calling Kashaw "Cashew," to the what he notices, and how he thinks about it is stunningly well done. The fact that Kern chews mint leaves, and the way you introduced that character trait was brilliant. This entire fic subverted expectations in the best way possible.

The decision to keep Grog's canonical heterosexuality was an unexpectedly gratifying thing to read in a fic. This probably sounds silly, but as someone who id bisexual, I actually feel like this fic gave me a little more insight into what it would be like to be heterosexual. It was really weird, having a major epiphany about a concept I thought I already understood. I mean that in the best way possible.

It's been a very very long time since a fanfic taught me something about myself, which is why I don't think there any words that can properly thank you for this. Because of this story you wrote, I was able to better fully understand my orientation as distinct and valid, instead of just an indecisive combination of gay and straight. Thank you SO MUCH. I'm actually crying because of how much this means to me.
